2015 wine making season

We were pleased with the weather conditions leading up to vintage. The season was consistently mild without any extremes such as heatwaves, unwanted rain or humidity. This created a longer ripening period which developed fabulous fruit flavours and acidity.

Pinot Noir was picked on four days between 25 March and April 9, while the Chardonnay was picked on April 11 and 18. The quantity varied with slightly less Chardonnay than usual, but the Pinot was slightly above average. This additional Pinot enabled us to make our third vintage of Selwyns Fault Rosé (to be released late 2015), and follows the 2010 and 2013 vintages.
